POPULAR Bookstore is a household name in Singapore and Malaysia. Most of us if not all, grew up with POPULAR since our school days. As we age, we start families and have children. It is a journey that comes full circle, now that it is us, buying POPULAR stationaries and books for our kids.
POPULAR Bookstore approached us to work on their mobile application for their consumers. The aim of this mobile application is to provide a platform to build better relationships and offers a much personal engagement touch points with consumers.
On the app, you will be able to find and sort your favourite POPULAR stores, receive notifications on promos, purchase and renew Popular membership.
With the first release pushing through during Bookfest 2018, the continual development of application is always on going for new features.
The development of this application for both IOS and Android was a challenge due to a drop dead date. The window that Agile Lab has for the development of this application was only 3 months. The other challenge was scalability, as the app was announced and intent for consumers to download during POPULAR's Bookfest event.
To build/test/launch an application for hundred thousands consumers in short period of time allows us to really focus on what really mattered and the business direction of POPULAR. Moving in an agile fashion, we were able to identify and prioritised development of features.
The POPULAR technical team and Agile Lab collaborated together very closely and that ensured the success of the launch.
